About UCDCenter's Mental Health Support Professionals
UCDCenter's warm and culturally competent mental health support professionals (MHSP) utilize a trauma-informed, client-centered approach and evidence-based strategies when providing mental health support services (MHSS). These can consist of motivational interviewing, anger management, re-entry support, crisis intervention & trauma support, and mental health support groups, to name a few. Mr. Crawley (Mr. C), Founder & Owner
From Newark, New Jersey, and known in the community for providing re-entry and addiction/recovery support, Mr. C understands the crucial need for culturally competent mental health support professionals in the urban community.
Mr. C uses an evidence-based, trauma-informed, humanistic, holistic, and client-centered approach. He also uses motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, and narrative strategies and techniques.
In addition, Mr. C specializes in providing MHSS for the re-entry and disability population. Mr. C holds a Bachelor of Science in Correctional Program Support Services from the University of Phoenix, focusing on mental health issues within the forensic setting.
Additionally, Mr. C is completing his Master of Science in Counseling/Clinical Mental Health, and his anticipated graduation year is 2025. Moreover, Mr. C is a Certified Anger Management Specialist - I CAMS and a National Anger Management Association NAMA member.
Based on the client's needs within the mental health, recovery & addiction, and re-entry settings, Mr. C can provide crisis intervention and trauma support, motivational interviewing MI, anger management, mindfulness techniques, and psycho-education, -to name a few. Mr. C is known for his empathy, warmth, and uplifting MI approach when servicing clients.
Additionally, Mr. C integrates strategies for clients to learn to implement boundaries and self-care related to healthy change. Mr. C understands the importance of clients' confidentiality and cultural diversity. Mr. C's model is that the client is in the driver's seat of their own life, and he is just there to help guide and support the client on their journey.
Ms. Allen, Collaborator
Growing up within the urban community of Newark, New Jersey, Ms. Allen is passionate about providing Mental Health Support Services MHSS to adult women who live in or are from urban communities.
Ms. Allen’s evidence-based, trauma-informed, client-centered, and holistic strategies are to effectively guide women in coping with life challenges and moving toward their healing.
Ms. Allen guides women in healing through psycho-education, crisis intervention, trauma support, motivational interviewing MI, nutritional tools, anger management support, and cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused strategies.
Ms. Allen holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Rutgers University and is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW). Additionally, Ms. Allen holds a certification in Mental Health First Aide (MHFA). Ms. Allen also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from Rutgers University, where she educates women on nutrition and its connection to brain health.
Ms. Allen also specializes in empowering women by guiding them in implementing healthy boundaries and self-care regimens to start and maintain healthy lifestyle changes.
Ms. Allen has been empowering women in mental health settings through her supervised role as a consultant counselor. The warm, safe, and uplifting environment Ms. Allen provides has helped many women gradually heal, grow, and discover their strengths and coping abilities related to their mental health and wellness.
Ms. Allen upholds strong ethics regarding clients’ confidentiality, cultural diversity, and sexual orientation.
